Hamilton Historical Preservation Association to hold annual meeting
All members of the Historical Preservation and Restoration Association of Greater Hamilton are invited to attend the Association’s annual meeting which will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 7:30 PM in the Community Room of the Hamilton Public Library. The officers for the coming year will be elected and copies of the Association’s recently published Seeing Hamilton: Your Guide to Village Architecture will be distributed. This publication is the result of three years of work by members of the Association, and contains a brief architectural history of the village, walking tours of the major streets, brief essays on the major architectural styles in Hamilton, a glossary of architectural terms and a bibliography. There are also illustrations by Diana Lynn Kupris-Mettler, of some of the village’s major buildings. Members of the Association who are unable to attend the meeting will receive copies of the guide book by mail and copies will soon be on sale at PM Jones and the Colgate Bookstore. These are great gifts for friends and relatives.
There will also be a talk on “Hamilton’s Residential Architecture” by Eric Van Schaack.
