An appeal for artwork by Lee Brown Coye and Robert W. Coye, special events, summer reading progress, and a reminder about our Labor Day weekend book sale comprise the news for this week at the Hamilton Public Library.
We are looking for information about locally owned pieces of artwork by Lee Brown Coye and Robert W. Coye. An exhibit of some of their work is currently on display and Robert W. Coye is especially interested in artwork that may be part of our community. If you have a piece of artwork or have a bit of history to share about Lee Brown Coye, please call the library or come to our Reception on Friday, July 22nd, at 7 PM.
As you view the exhibit, you will notice that there is an emphasis upon our local community. So, even if you saw the exhibit when it was recently on display at the New Woodstock Library, you will find a few different pieces and a “walking tour” of other artwork on display in the community. More information about this event can be found elsewhere in this paper.
Our last story time for this summer will be Tuesday, July 26th, at 10:30 AM. Children of all ages are welcome to come to this half hour program. Our guest storyteller will be Cas Donovan.
Mark your calendars for our last family event on Saturday, July 30th. We are co-sponsoring John Porcino, a storyteller, as part of the entertainment in the Kids’ Space Tent at the Music Mix. Porcino will be performing at 10 AM, noon, and 1 PM.
Bibiliomania, our summer board game, is in full swing. Skyler Fukazawa, June Schult, and Hayden Zahn have already read their way around the board once and have become “Bibliomasters.” They are already starting over and 78 more children are going to be eligible over the next few weeks if they keep on reading. Winner of the first weekly tee shirt drawing was Matthew McDermott.
Registration for this popular program is open all summer. Children of all ages can participate and all forms of reading or listening count. For every 30 minutes of reading, participants roll the die and work their way around the board, collecting prizes or answering questions as they go.
Our booksale preparations are almost underway. You may start bringing in your gently used books as early as August 1st. Please, no textbooks or Reader’s Digest Condensed Books.
The library is open Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM. Please call, (315) 824-3060, for assistance during these hours.
