News from Georgetown By Shirley Stone
Warren Werner is now a resident at the Crossings Nursing and Rehabilitation Center (formally Hallmark), where he joins Norm Evans. Norm is the resident pastor, still making hats, starting another book, (this one about the early settlers of Georgetown), a historical novel, and has a garden in boxes, pots, pans, etc. Besides Warren and Norm from Georgetown, Stanley Kellogg (who was also once of Georgetown) is there.
Norm is pushing 80 now, but still going strong, although pretty much confined to a wheelchair.
The Georgetown Class of 1965 had their 40th reunion on July 8th at the Georgetown Inn. Those in attendance were: Mary Ann (Morgan) Roe, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Baker, Mr. and Mrs. William Ashmall, Mr. and Mrs. Ray White (Mollie LaMore), Ms. Barbara Dale, Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Williams (Darn Lenning), and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Hodge (Nancy Selover). A good time was had by all. We missed those who were not able to attend.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Winn, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Eaton camped out at the Turning Stone and had a great time.
August 18th through 20th will be Georgetown’s 85th Annual Firemen’s Field Days and 2nd Annual Car Show (to include trucks, tractors, and motorcycles as well as cars). To pre-register for the Car Show call Syd at 662-7588. Crafters can pre-register for a spot with Bob at 837-4421.
