Ross Named to IWLCA National Honor Roll

Junior Heidi Ross of the Colgate University women’s lacrosse team was named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) National Honor Roll on Friday, June 24. She is the first Colgate student-athlete to earn the honor since Jane Murray was named to the 2002 squad.

In 2005, Ross was honored as the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year, and was named to the All-Patriot League First Team for the second straight season. The team tri-captain started all 20 games at defense and scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points. Ross anchored the Colgate defense that ranked 17th in the country with 8.75 goals allowed per game. She finished second on the team and fourth in the conference with 45 ground balls, and was second on the squad with 30 draw controls. Ross has made the Colgate Dean’s List every semester, and is a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

The 152 student-athletes who were honored by the IWLCA have all achieved junior or senior academic standing, are members of their school’s varsity lacrosse team, and have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.2 for the spring semester.
