News from the Hamilton SNACK site
We all enjoyed a beautiful sun-filled day with a cooling breeze on our Skaneateles luncheon and boat cruise last week. The lovely shoreline dotted with many magnificent homes, the crystal clear water, and an excellent meal on board the boat Judge Ben Wiles, made for a very pleasant afternoon. We also had the chance to thank retiring bus driver Tim Noel for his volunteer service over the years.
I’d like to thank my SNACK friends for all their kinds words during my short stay at our fine Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, and express my appreciation to the hospital staff for the kind and attentive treatment I received while in their care. We are truly blessed to have this medical facility in our community.
We’d like to note last month’s passing of one time SNACK participant Carl Borreson, who had been living in a facility in Rome.
Our next luncheon at Quack’s Diner will be Wednesday, July 27th. The menu will feature Pot Roast, Oven Roasted Potatoes, Carrots, Rolls & Butter, and Chocolate Mousse. Please call your reservations in no later than Friday, July 22nd.
On the SNACK menu next week is Seafood Salad on a Roll (Monday, July 25th), Fajita Chicken (Tuesday, 26th), BBQ Pork on a Roll (Thursday, 28th), and Turkey Divan (Friday, 29th). Wednesday is our luncheon at Quack’s.
Our Bingo inventory could use some energizing, so any donations of small items are most welcomed.
The Center will provide transportation to the New York State Fair on Tuesday, August 30th. The cost is $10 and admission for seniors is free. Non-seniors are welcome. Please call for reservations and leave your name and number.
We’ll be looking for a beautiful day on Seneca Lake on Thursday, September 15th, when we travel to the beautiful and newly renovated Belhurst Castle for a full day including a sit-down luncheon, Bingo, a musician for sing-a-long and dancing, door prizes, games, and an opportunity to explore this historic castle. The total cost is $45. Please leave your name and number when making reservations. All money must be received by September 1st.
