Colgate announces athletics ticket plan

Director David Roach has announced a revamped ticket plan that includes discounted season ticket packages for the four-time Patriot League champion Raider football team.

Starting in 2005, Colgate football fans will have the opportunity to purchase season ticket packages that include reserved-seat admission to all six home games, as well as a t-shirt, a football media guide, a game program at each game, free parking, a preseason barbecue with the team and more.

Members of the community can reserve their seat at Andy Kerr Stadium and receive their additional gifts - a package valued valued at more than $150 for just $42. In addition parents can treat age 12 and under) to a season’s worth of some of the best Division I-AA football in the country for just $20. Additional specially-priced plans are available for Colgate alumni, faculty and staff.

Starting this fall, Colgate will offer season tickets for 17 home men’s and women’s soccer games that cost $25 for adults and $10 for children age 12 and under. Season tickets will also be available for all home men’s and women’s basketball and men’s ice hockey games.

In addition to experiencing all the action on the field, court and ice, season-ticket holders will have more opportunities for entertainment at the games. Plans for the football season include a kids zone that will be set up behind the east endzone at each of the first four games. Local high school marching bands will provide halftime entertainment at many games, and fans will have the opportunity to participate in contests and prize giveaways. In 2006, fans will be treated to a state-of-the-art video replay board that will be part of a new scoreboard in the west endzone. Season-long promotions are currently being developed for hockey and basketball games.

Soon fans will be able to purchase tickets online through Colgate’s athletics website, www.goColgateRaiders.com. Colgate is also in the process of computerizing its ticket office which will allow the department to provide special offers to its season-ticket holders directly throughout the year.
