LIVE TV BROADCAST OF UNDERWATER PRESERVE -- After nine years of work by the Oswego Maritime Foundation, New York Sea Grant, New York State, and many volunteers, the David W. Mills Submerged Cultural Preserve and Dive Site was opened May 3 with an underwater ribbon-cutting ceremony broadcast live on ABC stations' evening news programs in Syracuse and Rochester, NY. Lighthouse Marine of Port Ontario, NY provided the underwater communications and video equipment, and WIXT NewsChannel 9 broadcast the event.
